Once I finished Mixtape's site I continued to write about the project. Mixtape is a project that came to me organically and its zine came the same way. I felt a need to compile the writings surrounding Mixtape in a shareable form.
I've been interested in working with Affinity for quite some time and this looked like a great opportunity to learn and apply this new skills in something very specific on a deadline.
The layouts I made for the zine are not groundbreaking, but they have some merit. Besides that, when I tried to export the project to PDF the resulting file was enormous and would not allow navigation when read via web browsers. I was able - after some troubleshooting - to make the pdf lighter enough but still readable. I learned about PDF creation and this can be useful in the future.
There are 7 articles/pieces of text in this zine. Some exclusive to the zine, others previously published in my personal blog.
I wrote more texts than ended up in the zine. Som texts emerged from me tinkering with the ideas I got from Mixtape, but were so insular they felt out of place.
Genrally speaking, I'm satisfied with the final results, but I think the zine looks quite amateurish.
At the moment I write this post, the zine is available only in portuguese.
